Job Information: 

Position Title: Front End Developer

Number of Positions: 2

Engagement Length: Approximately 17 weeks                                                            

Location of Position:  1 NorthState Street, Chicago, IL 

TheUser Experience team within the Online Services group at Sears Holdings is looking for a front-end developer with at least three years of experience tojoin our close-knit group of web professionals. Our team is made up of amotivated developers, information architects, web designers and other creativetypes who work hard every day to improve the user experience at ManageMyHome.com, PartsDirect.com, SearsHomeService.com,and other the associated portfolio of Sears brand properties. If you are a front-end developer with professional experience collaborating with design and development teams on large-scale Agile projects, then we would like to hear from you.  

Thei deal candidate should have:  

·        Expertise in hand-coding semantic HTML and clean CSS that is valid across all major browsers

·        Experience programming with JavaScript, including Prototype and/or JQuery frameworks

·        Basic understanding of interaction design and user-centered design methods and practices

·        Working knowledge of Agile development practices

·        Experience with Photoshop 

·        A comprehensive portfolio

·        Excellent conflict resolution 

·        Ability to multi-task across multiple projects under tight deadlines

 Excellent communication skills and a respect for other perspectives  

 Candidates should preferably have experience with the some of the following:

 AJAX

 Ruby/Rails

 Java/Jruby/Struts/JSP

 Agency and design firms

 Web accessibility standards

 DRY coding practices
